Iryna Loboda
- Intructional Technology Graduate Assistant, Fall 2002
- Degree: M.S., Human Resource Development, December 2002
- Current position: Instructional Technologist with CDE
My acquaintance with the Center on Disability and Employment (CDE)
happened while I was in the University of Tennessee's graduate school. From my fellow students
and professors, I heard about the noble goal of this organization
(then called UT-TIE) to promote inclusion of people with disabilities
in the community through training, information dissemination, and policy changes. I also learned that use of technology was a key
component in the strategy of this organization. As a graduate student
in the Human Resource Development program, I was interested in application
of computer technologies in training and development. Therefore,
an internship position of an instructional technologist with CDE
became a blessing for me. I was amazed by the amount and high quality
of work performed by the small staff of enthusiastic professionals
at CDE.
The experience acquired during my studies was invaluable and led
me to a position of IT Technologist that I took February 24, 2003.
My duties include assisting in the creation of e-learning products,
preparing information for electronic dissemination, designing marketing
materials, collecting authentic media, conducting research and implementation
of web accessibility, and providing technical assistance. CDE is
a constantly evolving organization, and through my work I hope to
make a modest contribution to its growth and development.
