Troubleshooting

How do I close the orientation window?

• Click the Exit button in the upper right of the screen to end the orientation.
• Or, at any time, you may press ALT + F4 to close the browser window.

Why can't I hear the audio clips?

• To hear audio clips, install RealPlayer.
• Turn up the volume on your speakers.
• Adjust the volume on your media player.
• Plug headphones into your computer.

Why won't the videos play?

• To view videos, install RealPlayer.

Why can't I view the final quiz?

• The final quiz file is in a PDF format that requires a free program called Adobe Reader to view them. Install Adobe Reader.

How do I open the Orientation in Internet Explorer?
This product is best viewed in Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater. Other browsers may not properly display all features and formatting of this training. Your computer may already have Internet Explorer on its desktop. If not, you may install Internet Explorer. If Internet Explorer is not your default browser, use the steps to open the Orientation in Internet Explorer.

• Open Internet Explorer by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
• If you are not connected to the Internet, you will receive a message that asks if you would like to work offline. Click Yes.
• Under File, select Open.
• Browse to your CD drive (usually [D:] or [E:]).
• Select the file "begin."
• The Orientation should open in Internet Explorer.

Overview

There are several elements on a page to help you navigate the Orientation.

• Eight navigation buttons include: Modules, FAQs, Glossary, Help, Back, Next, Restart, Exit
• The "Module Progress" bar provides direct links to Modules 1-4 as well as the Bonus Module.
• Progress within a module is noted at the bottom center of each screen.
• A link to the Orientation Contents is located on the lower left. The Orientation Contents is an index of topics for each module; use it to visit a specific section within a module.
• Click any photograph to view a text description of the picture.The text description appears in a new window. Close the window when you are finished reading the description.
• Alternative text describes content in any graphic.

Navigation

A demonstration of how to navigate the training is available in the introduction to the Orientation. Click the restart button to return to the introduction.

Descriptions of the function of each button:

Modules: Each of the module buttons at the top left of each screen link to the module's first page. Browse to topics within each module by clicking on a link in the left navigation panel.

FAQ's: FAQ's stands for "Frequently Asked Questions." Clicking on the FAQ's button opens a new window listing questions that are commonly asked by family, staff, or individuals. View the answer to a FAQ by following the link. When you are finished reviewing the information, close the windown to return to the Orientation.

Glossary: The Glossary button opens a dictionary of terms used in supported employment. The Glossary opens in a new window. When you are finished reviewing the definitions, close the window to return to the Orientation.

Help: The Help button sends you to the page. This page graphically walks you through the function of each button and element on the screen. A text version (what you are currently reading) is available for further detail. If you require technical assistance beyond the Tutorial, please contact webmaster@myceon.com.

Back: The Back button sends you to the page just visited. For example, if you are on page 5 of 20, the Back button will send you to page 4 of 20.

Next >>
Next: The Next button forwards you to the upcoming page in the Orientation. For example, if you are on page 5 of 20, the Next button will forward you to page 6 of 20.

Restart Orientation: The Restart Orientation button sends you to the orientation welcome screen.

Exit: The Exit button sends you to a page that asks if you are sure you would like to quit the Orientation. Click the button labelled "Exit the Orientation" to close the program.
