Tashara Tolbert, West Tennessee Community Employment Consultant
Tashara Tolbert joined the UT Connections for Disability and Employment (UT-CDE) in March 2007 as the Community Employment Consultant for West Tennessee. Prior to joining UT- CDE, for five years she served individuals with disabilities as a job developer and program coordinator for Spectrum Support, Inc. A native of Ohio, Tashara has Bachelor of Arts degree in General Business Studies from Bowling Green State University of Ohio. Shortly after graduation, she began a career with Cuyahoga County Department of Human Services. During her DHS career, Ms. Tolbert structured and conducted motivational and job readiness workshops for the welfare to work population, in which expanded to job placement opportunities. This placement tool gained the attention of the media in the greater Cleveland, Ohio area. Before her four year career as a workshop facilitator, she was a DHS employment and training specialist for seven years.
