Stephanie Connell Cowherd, Manager
Stephanie is the Manager of the DRS Corporate Connections Program. This statewide resource center and employment service assists Tennessee businesses in recruiting, hiring, and retaining employees with disabilities. Stephanie provides leadership for seven Account Representatives who are regional contacts for companies. She works closely with the business community to assess their needs and develop resources. The Program is funded by the Tennessee Division of Rehabilitation Services and administered by The University of Tennessee, Connections for Disability and Employment.
Stephanie has 20 years of experience developing and managing human resource services that promote diversity in the workplace. Her background includes coordinating the resources of local, state, and federal agencies to assist employers in increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities. As a consultant and trainer, she provides information on topics such as, disability management, job accommodation, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. She coordinates marketing and public relations activities to increase awareness and promote business leaders. Stephanie is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the Tennessee Valley Human Resources Association, the Knoxville Area Chamber Partnership, and serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Knoxville Disability Resource Center. Stephanie is a graduate.
