Announcing Center on Disability
and Employment
Advancing universal access for individuals with disabilities
in employment, education, and life. The Center on Disability and Employment (CDE)
advances universal access for people with disabilities in employment,
education, and life. Established in 1987, the Center fosters continuous learning and
mprovement among the workforce, human service professionals, community
members, and the academic environment. CDE is a part of
- the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences at The University
of Tennessee
- the Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities, Tennessee's
University Center for Excellence in Disabilities
- University of Tennessee Educational Psychology and Counseling Department.

Formerly UT-TIE, this organization gained new
recognition from The University of Tennessee to become the Center
on Disability and Employment. A center status expands existing services
and outreach as it
- confirms the organization’s successful contribution to
the mission of the land grant university
- gives CDE and the University’s faculty, staff, and students
a rich opportunity to collaborate through professional development,
outreach, and scholarship
- allows CDE to become a living laboratory for research on disability
and employment issues
The Center on Disability and Employment continues to serve as your
