Organizational Change is a comprehensive process for sustaining organizational viability and economic, customer, and other economic changes. The North Carolina Network for Organizational Change formed in 2001-2002 through consultation from the University of Tennessee Center on Disability and Employment through continuous funding by the North Carolina Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and Department of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse. Beginning with three Community Rehabilitation Providers (CRPs) the network grew to 20 CRPs over a five-year period. These 20 CRPs have incorporated organizational change through strategic planning and setting a vision for the future organization by redesigning their organizational structure, realigning their budget and setting outcome measures for continuous improvement. These organizational changes reflected in a shift from facility-based to community based services, person-centered services, as well as cross training and leadership training for staff. Please take a few moments to learn about how this Network implemented change.
